Malibu, CA – September 21, 2012

Malibu?s three elementary schools are joining the green energy revolution with the help of rooftop solar panel installations.? Construction is already underway at the schools of Webster, Point Dume Marine Science and Juan Cabrillo, with each system expected to go live before the New Year.? The systems are forecasted to save SMMUSD tens of thousands of dollars in electric expenses during their 30+ year operating lives, as well as serve as an educational resource for the community.? The 403 solar panels atop Webster are projected to offset 93% of the school?s electric consumption, while 83% of Point Dume?s electric needs will be met be 392 rooftop panels.? Juan Cabrillo Elementary will have 94% of its electricity supplied by a 364-panel installation.
